Trump claims that US troops destroy 42 Iranian vessels

According to NBC, the US president made this statement during a speech to the heads of state of 12 Western Hemisphere countries at the "Shield of the Americas Summit" in Doral, Florida, Ukrinform reports.

"That was the end of the navy. We knocked out their air force, we knocked out their communications, and all telecommunications is gone. I don’t know how they communicate, but I guess they will figure something out too well," Trump said.

He also repeated the claim—without providing evidence—that Iran was close to developing nuclear weapons.

"They would have had a nuclear weapon, you know, crazy, and they would have used it. So, we did the world a favor," the US president stated.

As reported by Ukrinform, Trump announced on Saturday a “very strong strike” against Iran, noting that the complete destruction of areas and population groups was being considered.
