Putin cares more about rising oil prices than his 'partners' in Teheran – Sybiha
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated this on the social network X, Ukrinform reports.
He noted a clear lack of support from allies, primarily from Russia, when the Iranian regime finds itself in a difficult position. He recalled that Iran and Russia signed a 20-year comprehensive strategic partnership agreement last year, and recently Iran has also significantly deepened its defense cooperation with Russia's allies – Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso.
Sybiha stated that Moscow is currently in no hurry to assist its "ally."
"Frankly speaking, Putin probably cares more about rising oil prices than his 'partners' in Teheran. For example, Russia has yet to initiate a BRICS statement, despite the fact that Iran joined the group two years ago. Putin expressed condolences following Khamenei's death; that's all. The bottom line is that Moscow will always betray those who count on it for support. At the most critical moment, Russia will wash its hands of its partners," he said.
Sybiha emphasized that this has happened many times before, and the fall of Assad, Maduro, and Khamenei will have strategic consequences for the Moscow regime, bringing it closer to its own collapse.
As Ukrinform previously reported, on February 28, the United States and Israel carried out joint strikes on facilities of the Iranian regime. After that, Iran attacked U.S. bases in Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan.
