NATO defense ministers to discuss support for Ukraine in Brussels on Feb 12
A NATO official at the Alliance's headquarters in Brussels told this to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"On 12 February NATO Defense Ministers are meeting in Brussels to take stock of the progress made since the Summit in The Hague, including how they are delivering on commitments to ramp up defense investment and defense industrial production, strengthen our deterrence and defense, and sustain our support for Ukraine," the NATO official said.
The ministers will also discuss preparations for the next NATO Summit in Ankara, scheduled for July 7-8, 2026, the official added.
In addition, the defense ministers plan to discuss continued support for Ukraine – "whose security is closely linked with the security of the Alliance" – at a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council together with Ukraine's Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, the official said.
As reported, EU defense ministers will meet in Brussels at a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council (in the defense format). Fedorov will also take part in the meeting. An informal discussion on prospects for defense investment is planned.
On February 12, a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, co-chaired by the United Kingdom and Germany, will also take place.
