Stefanchuk, Senators Graham, Blumenthal discuss 'hellish sanctions' against Russia

"Today in Washington, we spoke about effective tools that can change the course of the war. These are hellish sanctions against Russia – sanctions that would force it toward peace. During the conversation with Senate Budget Committee Chair Lindsey Graham and Senator Richard Blumenthal, with the participation of Ambassador Olga Stefanishyna and Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra, we discussed in detail the substance of the sanctions, ways to introduce them, and the timeframe," Stefanchuk said.

He also briefed Graham and Blumenthal on the latest Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and discussed the need to further strengthen Ukraine's air defense as a key element in protecting people and critical infrastructure.

"I thanked Senator Graham for promoting the initiative to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. I invited the senators to visit Ukraine again. Support for Ukraine in the U.S. Congress remains bipartisan – and that is what makes it resilient," Stefanchuk said.
