Zelensky holds consultations with Ukraine's negotiating team in UAE

The head of state told this to journalists, Ukrinform reports.

"I have just held consultations with Ukraine's negotiating team. We discussed [key] issues before the beginning of talks. I spoke with the head of the delegation, Rustem Umerov, with our entire team on speaker. We talked through everything, everyone understands what needs to be done. We discussed the framework of the conversation, the topics, and the desired result," Zelensky said.

He noted that members of the Ukrainian team have taken into account that the formats of the talks may vary.

"The team will make decisions directly on the spot, and they will respond in the process, depending on how the dialogue unfolds, because this format is being used for the first time in a long period," he said.

Zelensky added that he will stay in touch with the team from time to time.

As reported, the teams of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia will hold meetings in the United Arab Emirates today and tomorrow.

Zelensky said that the issue of Donbas would be among the key topics of the talks. The head of state also approved today the composition of the Ukrainian delegation, headed by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.
