The European Union has allocated the first EUR 10 million for a new Special Tribunal to prosecute Russian leaders for their role in the war that Moscow is waging against Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated this on the social network X.
"Russia's leaders are responsible for this war, and they must be held accountable. There can be no impunity," she wrote.
Kallas added that, for this purpose, EU countries signed a corresponding agreement with the Council of Europe.
As Ukrinform previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated during his speech on the sidelines of the Davos Economic Forum that Europe has still not achieved real progress in establishing a Special Tribunal for the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
