CCD dismisses reports of “distorted intelligence” shared with U.S.

Information circulating online claiming that Ukraine allegedly provided the United States with “distorted intelligence” is a deliberate conspiratorial fabrication voiced by a foreign media outlet without any supporting facts.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

“A claim that does not correspond to reality is being spread online, alleging that Ukraine supposedly passed ‘distorted intelligence’ to the United States, which was later used by Russia. This is a deliberate conspiratorial throw-in aired by a foreign media outlet without any facts,” the Center said.

Claims about an “inevitable rupture” in partnership relations between Ukrainian and U.S. intelligence services are also false. In reality, Ukraine continues security cooperation with allies and partners, and information sharing is ongoing.

“The spread of this fake narrative is being carried out in some Russian online communities, as well as on the X network by artificial accounts, with the aim of undermining trust between Ukraine and its key Western partners, especially amid dialogue on a peace plan,” the CCD noted.

Another goal of the fake is to sow doubts about the effectiveness of Ukraine’s special services and to discredit international support for Ukraine.

According to sources in the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), the information presented in a report by a French television channel was further distorted by Russian propagandists.

Kremlin bot farms are once again disseminating fakes, exploiting the presence of a Ukrainian delegation abroad in an attempt to disrupt the negotiation process aimed at ending the war.

A source in the DIU emphasized that Ukrainian intelligence, like other authorized Ukrainian bodies and officials, continues to actively cooperate with international partners, including the United States, on the basis of professionalism and responsibility.

As Ukrinform previously reported, the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council uncovered the ZOV propaganda network, which aims to influence Ukrainian residents by localizing content for major cities.
