US seizes second shadow fleet tanker in one day
The U.S. Southern Command (Southcom) announced this on X, Ukrinform reports.
In a pre-dawn action this morning, the Department of War, in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security, apprehended a stateless, sanctioned dark fleet motor tanker without incident.

"In a pre-dawn action this morning, the Department of War, in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security, apprehended a stateless, sanctioned dark fleet motor tanker without incident. The interdicted vessel, M/T Sophia, was operating in international waters and conducting illicit activities in the Caribbean Sea," Southcom said.
The command added that the U.S. Coast Guard is escorting M/T Sophia to the U.S. for final disposition.
Earlier on January 7, U.S. law enforcement and military personnel seized an oil tanker flying the Russian flag in the Atlantic Ocean.
