Weimar Triangle meeting to discuss Russia–Ukraine war
Ukrinform reported this, citing Merkur.
“One day after the summit of the so-called Coalition of the Willing, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU) will meet in Paris today, Wednesday, to discuss the situation in Ukraine in the format of the Weimar Triangle. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski will also participate,” the report said.
Following the Weimar Triangle talks, a meeting is also scheduled with Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, during which the parties intend to discuss, among other issues, cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
Later on Wednesday, the foreign ministers plan to answer questions from media representatives.
As reported by Ukrinform, on January 6, following a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a Declaration of Intent on the deployment of multinational forces.
According to Starmer, the declaration by Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and France on intentions to deploy foreign forces in Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement creates a legal framework for operations by partner countries’ troops on Ukrainian territory.
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that the Ukrainian delegation in Paris is continuing peace negotiations on Wednesday, adding that “concrete results already exist.”
