Sweden ready to provide fighter jets, help clear sea mines after war – PM

According to Ukrinform, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced this on X following a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris with Ukraine and the United States.

"Good progress made today [on January 6] in Paris, when we in the Coalition of the Willing, Ukraine and the United States met to discuss peace in Ukraine," he wrote.

According to Kristersson, once a peace agreement is reached, Sweden will provide Gripen fighter jets for air surveillance over Ukraine, maritime resources for clearing mines in the Black Sea, and continue its training of Ukrainian military officers.

"A prerequisite is, of course, for a peace deal to be reached, rules of engagement for the multinational force to be clear, and formal approval by the parliament," he said.

"Sweden is prepared to do our part for peace in Europe," Kristersson added.

Following a meeting in Paris, the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, Ukraine, and the United States signed a joint declaration entitled "Robust Security Guarantees for a Solid and Lasting Peace in Ukraine."
