Zelensky: My priority lies in ending war, not appointing head of OP
He stated this at a press conference, Ukrinform reports.
"I have held several consultations. There are some organizational details. Who can be appointed from which institution, and how the structure would function afterward. As for the candidates currently in the Cabinet of Ministers, there is still the unresolved issue of how to appoint ministers to the vacant positions — the Minister of Energy and the Minister of Justice. I believe that our parliament together with the Cabinet of Ministers need to propose how to fill these vacancies faster. And if I, for example, take someone now from the current government — they are qualified people who could be suitable for the position of head of the Office — but I am afraid that their replacement will be sought for weeks, just as with the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Justice. I do not want to destabilize the Cabinet of Ministers. Therefore, the priority is ending the war and my international work primarily with the United States of America, as well as cooperation with the Coalition of the Willing," Zelensky said.
The President added that he is focused on developing a peace agreement. He also expressed surprise that the issue of appointing the head of the Presidential Office is one of the most discussed topics in society.
As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is considering Denys Shmyhal, Mykhailo Fedorov, Sergiy Kyslytsia, Kyrylo Budanov, and Pavlo Palisa for the position of head of the Presidential Office.
