Zelensky during London talks: Unity between Ukraine, Europe and U.S. is crucial
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Zelensky said this during a brief joint statement by the four leaders.
"There are things that are very important for today, the unity between Europe and Ukraine, and also unity between Europe and the United States. There are some things we cannot manage without Americans, things we cannot manage without Europe," Zelensky said. He also thanked Starmer for organizing this meeting in London.
"I think that it is very important now to organize such a meeting, to meet and discuss very sensitive issues regarding peace talks, what we have between the United States and us," the President of Ukraine said.
He added that the Ukrainian negotiating team had returned from the United States to London and would inform the European leaders about the results of the talks.
As reported, according to Sky News, negotiations took place at the residence of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer with the participation of Zelensky, Macron and Merz. The main topic of the talks was diplomatic efforts centered around the US-proposed peace plan and potential sticking points. Security guarantees for Ukraine are among the key issues on the agenda.
