New Zealand and Australia will join the program for purchasing U.S. weapons for Ukraine under the PURL mechanism.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced this following the meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, Ukrinform reports with reference to Reuters.
“We heard that Australia and New Zealand will also contribute to PURL, the first NATO partners to do so,” Rutte said.
He also noted that two-thirds of NATO member states have committed to providing weapons to Ukraine through the so-called Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL).
As reported by Ukrinform, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte earlier called on partners to step up contributions to PURL.
