President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine and Ireland have approved a partnership roadmap for the next five years.

The Head of State made the remarks during a joint media briefing with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin in Dublin, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We have approved a partnership roadmap between our countries, Ukraine and Ireland, for at least the next five years. We hope that during this period Ukraine will already become a member of the European Union, and we are grateful to you for your support along this path,” Zelensky said.

He noted that the talks with the Irish Prime Minister covered the full bilateral agenda. The President reminded that Ireland has consistently provided political support to Ukraine. He also mentioned a package of humanitarian assistance.

“We are very grateful for all of this,” the President added.

Zelensky also expressed gratitude to Ireland for providing assistance to Ukrainians throughout the war.

“I was raised in a way that I cannot criticize help – it either increases or decreases. We must be grateful. We must be grateful and not forget it. I truly believe that you did this not only to help us, but because you understand what we are going through. You understand this, I think, historically and in terms of values. That is why we are thankful for your choice. The question is not the amount of aid; the question is the choice,” he said.
