The Polish Prime Minister reminded allies that NATO was created to protect the West from Soviet—that is, Russian—aggression.
According to Ukrinform, Donald Tusk wrote about this on social network X.
“I wish to remind our allies that NATO was created to defend the West against the Soviet aggression, that is against Russia,” the Polish prime minister said.
According to him, the Alliance was based on solidarity, not selfish interests.
“I hope that nothing has changed,” Tusk said.
As reported by Ukrinform, Tusk said that Russia cannot dictate its terms to Ukraine or Europe, and that everything concerning Poland must be decided within the country.
