The Chinese government does not supply lethal weapons to either Russia or Ukraine and strictly controls the export of military products and dual-use goods.

This was stated at a briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning in response to a request from Ukrinform's correspondent to comment on the Ukrainian State Border Service's report on the destruction of a Chinese-made Type-63 multiple launch rocket system in the Toretsk direction.

“I am not aware of what you mentioned. Let me emphasize that China has never provided and does not provide lethal weapons to any party to the conflict,” Mao said in response to a question about how to explain the appearance of Chinese-made weapons in the Russian occupation army in Ukraine.

“The Chinese government strictly controls the export of military products and dual-use goods,” the foreign ministry spokeswoman added.

At the same time, she avoided answering the question of whether the Chinese side intends to investigate the circumstances of Chinese weapons falling into Russian hands.

Beijing officially declares neutrality in the Russian-Ukrainian war and states that it does not provide any support to “the parties to the conflict.” At the same time, since the beginning of the war, China has rapidly increased its trade with Russia in dual-use goods, becoming the sole supplier of electronics and other products for weapons production to Moscow.

Ukraine's partner countries have harshly criticized Beijing for helping Moscow, but the Chinese government rejects all accusations of supporting Russia's war in Ukraine and insists that its ties with Russia are normal interactions between two countries.

As reported by Ukrinform, fighters from the Phoenix border guard unit's unmanned aerial systems destroyed a Chinese-made Type-63 multiple launch rocket system in the Toretsk direction.
