EU approves 19th package of sanctions against Russia — Kallas

The European Union has just approved the 19th package of sanctions against Russia for its ongoing full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, announced on social media X, according to Ukrinform.

“We just adopted our 19th sanctions package,” she wrote.

According to Kallas, the new package of restrictive measures is aimed at Russian banks, cryptocurrency exchanges, and companies in India and China.

In addition, the European Union is restricting the movement of Russian diplomats to counter attempts at destabilization.

“It is increasingly harder for Putin to fund this war,” Kallas concluded.

As reported by Ukrinform, the U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions against major Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil, calling on Moscow to immediately agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine.
