Zelensky: Trump focused on ending Russia-Ukraine war

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Zelensky stated this while speaking to journalists.

“The losses, scale, and means of the wars in the Middle East and in Ukraine cannot simply be compared. We are fighting the Russian army. This war cannot be ended quickly. We have approached a possible end to the war. I can tell you for certain: it doesn’t mean it will definitely end, but President Trump has achieved a lot in the Middle East, and on this wave, he wants to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. This is his attitude — and the world’s attitude: let’s now throw all our efforts into ending Russia’s war against Ukraine,” Zelensky explained.

He added that Ukraine was taking full advantage of the momentum, taking actions that pressure Russia toward peace negotiations.

“So, there is this mindset, and we are acting in this mindset — Tomahawks and other measures, new steps that really push Russia,” the Ukrainian President said.

Ukrinform previously reported that ahead of his October 17 meeting with Zelensky, Trump had spoken with Vladimir Putin by phone, after which he announced plans to meet the Russian leader in Budapest to discuss the possibility of ending the “inglorious” war between Russia and Ukraine.
