U.S. to allow Qatar to build air force facility in Idaho

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has announced that the United States will allow Qatar to build an Air Force facility at Mountain Home Air Base in Idaho, where Qatari F-15 fighter jets and pilots will be stationed for joint training with American forces.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by The Peninsula.

“US Defense Secretary HE Pete Hegseth announced Friday that Qatar will be allowed to build an air force facility at Mountain Home Air Base in Idaho that will house F-15 fighter jets and pilots,” the report said.

The announcement came shortly after President Donald Trump signed an executive order pledging to defend Qatar from attacks following Israeli airstrikes targeting Hamas leaders in Doha.

"We're signing a letter of acceptance to build a Qatari Emiri Air Force facility at the Mountain Home Air Base in Idaho," Hegseth stated at the Pentagon in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al-Thani.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that representatives of Israel and Hamas have agreed to implement the first phase of a U.S.-proposed peace plan.
