Zelensky says he asked Trump not only for Tomahawk missiles, but also for more ATACMS
The head of state announced this at a press briefing on Friday, Ukrinform reports.
"We spoke with President Trump during our latest meeting in New York not only about Tomahawks, but also about HIMARS. I also mentioned ATACMS. I won't go into details, but if you have 30, 40, or 50 ATACMS, that is, frankly speaking, nothing," Zelensky said.
He stressed that Ukraine needs a much larger quantity of long-range weapons in order for their use to have a tangible effect.
"When one of our partners says they are helping us with long-range weapons, with ATACMS, in my view, it should sound ten times more than what is actually being provided. If you want to see a real effect, then you need to deliver numbers capable of producing that effect. This isn't marketing. It's not just to be able to say: yes, we gave something," Zelensky said.
