There is no Nazi regime, Nazism, or official nationalism in Ukraine, despite claims made by Russian propaganda.

Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky stated this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"I keep saying it all the time: there is no Nazi regime, as Russia claims, and there is no Nazism or even nationalism on the official level," he said.

The diplomat noted that, in terms of anti-Semitism, Ukraine does not differ from other European countries or regions, and therefore such accusations are, in his opinion, unfair.

"I keep saying it all the time. The very fact that the president is a Jew and is absolutely open and straightforward about it, the fact that the Jewish community here is influential, vibrant, and developed – all of this shows the reality. Jewish life here is very developed, and I enjoy Jewish life in Ukraine," Brodsky added.

The ambassador also mentioned the celebration of Rosh Hashanah and concluded that Jewish life in Ukraine is flourishing, even amid the war.

In 2023, Brodsky stated that despite historical differences, Israel supports Ukraine. At the time, he was referring to the activities of 20th-century Ukrainian nationalist leaders Stepan Bandera, Roman Shukhevych, and Andrij Melnyk.

After that, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused the Israeli diplomat of "supporting Nazis." The propagandist also spread further disinformation about Ukraine.

Combating anti-Semitism and its manifestations is part of Ukraine's state policy. In particular, the Law "On Preventing and Combating Anti-Semitism in Ukraine" was adopted and has been in effect since September 2021.
