Sybiha discusses strengthening Ukraine’s defense and increasing pressure on Russia with Canadian FM

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand in New York.

According to Ukrinform, Sybiha shared details of the meeting on social media platform X.

“Productive and meaningful meeting with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand in New York. Ukraine–Canada cooperation remains strong, and I thanked Canada for its support,” Sybiha stated.

He noted that the conversation focused on enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities, coordinating sanctions against Russia’s energy sector, and other measures aimed at increasing pressure on Moscow.

“I once again commended Canada’s leadership in the Group of Seven and the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. We coordinated further steps in these and other formats,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister added.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, at the UN headquarters in New York, Andrii Sybiha and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu discussed diplomatic efforts to end the war.
