A meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump has begun at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The news was reported by Ukrinform’s own correspondent in New York.

During a brief statement to the press, Zelensky noted that the main topics of his meeting with Trump would be the battlefield situation, security guarantees from the United States, and the search for a path to peace.

Earlier, President Zelensky stated that during the meeting with Trump, he hopes to receive confirmation of the promised security guarantees. According to the Ukrainian president, Ukraine and its European partners have prepared a framework for these guarantees—one that Europe is ready to adopt, provided it receives support from the United States.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Zelensky arrived in New York to participate in high-level events during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
