Zelensky at UN General Assembly opening: Ukraine’s voice will resonate especially strongly

“The 80th Session of the UN General Assembly – I took part in the opening. Ukraine’s voice will resonate particularly strongly here in the coming days – for the return of our children, guarantees of security, and increasing pressure on the Russian Federation. We will do everything to ensure our diplomatic positions, our army, and the support for our people are even stronger,” Zelensky emphasized.  

He added that it is crucial for all meetings scheduled on the sidelines of the Assembly to yield tangible results.

“What matters most is taking action together, in unity with all our partners. I am grateful to everyone who already stands with Ukraine and is ready to continue working for peace,” said the President of Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, the high-level general debate of the UN General Assembly opened today in New York. This year’s theme, which will feature speeches from around 150 heads of state and government, is: “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights.”
