Zelensky to meet Macron ahead of Coalition of the Willing summit in Paris
Emmanuel Bonne, the diplomatic adviser to the French President, said this at a special briefing, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“President Macron will meet with President Zelensky tomorrow evening in Paris, ahead of the meeting with all our partners,” Bonne said.
He added that Macron will send a message that France, as a country that wants and is able to provide security guarantees to Ukraine, remains committed to its obligations toward Ukraine.
Bonne also emphasized the importance of the French President’s role in the coalition:
“You remember that in 2024, the President answered a question about the possibility of deploying security guarantees for Ukraine, which were perceived differently. Now, a year and a half later, 30 countries are working on security guarantees, and we are doing this in full coordination with all our European partners as well as our American allies,” he explained.
As reported, French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will co-chair the Coalition of the Willing meeting at the Élysée Palace on Thursday.
