Zelensky to Trump: We want to stop the war and are ready for a trilateral meeting
The Ukrainian president stated this during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"We support the idea of the United States, of personally President Trump, to stop this war, to make a diplomatic way of finishing this war. And we are ready for a trilateral meeting,” Zelensky said.
He noted that the Ukrainian people live under constant shelling, and everyone wants to “stop this war, stop Russia.”
Zelensky said that recent attack left several wounded and claimed the lives of many civilians—among them a one-and-a-half-year-old child. He emphasized Ukraine’s urgent desire to end the war and stop Russian aggression, and affirmed that the government is actively working with American and European partners to pursue every possible diplomatic solution.
As reported by Ukrinform, on Monday, August 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, together with European leaders, arrived in Washington to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss a peaceful settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine.
