President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that during the negotiations, European leaders agreed with US President Donald Trump on the principles of negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing that all issues concerning Ukraine should be discussed exclusively with Ukraine.

The head of state made this statement in Berlin during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

"All week since last Wednesday, there have been very intense communications, dozens of communications between all of us - European leaders, between Europe and the United States of America, between us and representatives of other parts of the world who want only one thing - peace in Ukraine, peace in Europe. Today, we discussed our common positions with the US president. Before that, there was a coordination meeting, and we agreed on five common principles," Zelensky said.

He emphasized that “everything concerning Ukraine should be discussed exclusively with Ukraine.”

“We must prepare a trilateral format for talks. There must be a ceasefire – (this) is number one. There must be security guarantees, sanctions must be strengthened if Russia does not agree to a ceasefire in Alaska,” the President of Ukraine highlighted some of these principles.

He noted that today there were talks with US President Donald Trump, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Polish President Karol Nawrocki.
