President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a bill passed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on restoring the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP).

According to Ukrinform, Zelensky announced this on Facebook.

“I would like to thank all parliamentarians for passing my bill, which is now law. I have just signed the document, and the text will be published immediately,” Zelensky said.

According to him, this guarantees the normal, independent work of anti-corruption bodies and all law enforcement agencies in Ukraine.

“The decision is correct. Three hundred and thirty-one deputies. Just as it should be – in principle and in general. It is very important that the state listens to public opinion. Ukraine is a democracy – there is no doubt about that,” Zelensky emphasized.
