Zelensky appoints 16 new ambassadors

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed 16 new ambassadors following a meeting with Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and the Office of the President.

He announced this on his official Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.

"After the briefings by the military and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine this morning, I held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Office team. We finalized an extensive candidate selection process for appointments as ambassadors of Ukraine. I have appointed 16 ambassadors," Zelensky wrote.

He noted that each ambassador had been given specific tasks and performance evaluation criteria.

"Later today, in the format of a meeting with the ambassadors, we will outline the key priorities of Ukrainian diplomacy for the next six months," Zelensky added.

In December 2024, Zelensky approved over 30 decisions on the appointment of new Ukrainian ambassadors. Notably, Nariman Dzhelialov was appointed ambassador to Turkey, Alyona Getmanchuk became Ukraine's representative to NATO, and Andrii Melnyk was appointed Ukraine's representative to the United Nations.
