Zelensky, Albanese discuss defense support for Ukraine
Zelensky shared details of the meeting in a post on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
The two leaders also exchanged views on the recent talks between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul and emphasized the need to increase pressure on Russia. Among other issues, they discussed specific sanctions that could compel the aggressor state to stop imposing conditions for an unconditional ceasefire.
Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Australia for its comprehensive support, including the delivery of Abrams tanks, which are helping the Defense Forces protect Ukraine.

"It is a good thing that we have allies from different continents. Together we can truly bring the current situation closer to peace by exerting pressure on Russia," Zelensky said.
On Sunday, May 18, Zelensky met with Pope Leo XIV following the inauguration ceremony and thanked the Vatican for its readiness to serve as a platform for negotiations with Russia.
