Finnish President Alexander Stubb said on Sunday that he engaged in a lengthy phone conversation on Saturday with U.S. President Donald Trump, followed by a call on Sunday morning with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

That is according to Yle, Ukrinform reports.

"Zelensky is patient, but Trump is starting to grow impatient… towards [Vladimir] Putin," Stubb said.

He last had calls with both leaders a week ago.

Speaking to Finnish news agency STT, Stubb emphasized that developments over the past two weeks have moved in a more positive direction for Ukraine.

Stubb said Finland supports Zelensky attending the upcoming NATO summit, which will take place on June 24–25 in The Hague. This position comes amid speculation that Zelensky might not be invited to appease Trump, who has been critical of the alliance and aid to Ukraine.
