Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the latest developments and coordinate steps to follow.

That’s according to the President's Office, Ukrinform reports.

Zelensky briefed the Frech President on the outcome of a constructive meeting of Ukrainian and American teams in Saudi Arabia, and recalled that Ukraine supported the U.S. proposal for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire. At the same time, he added, now Russia is trying to put forward its own conditions, seeking to render the ceasefire process unstable.

In turn, Macron spoke about the meeting of the heads of the General Staff, which took place on March 11 in Paris, which was about strengthening Ukraine now and in the future.

Separately, the two presidents discussed work on preparing security guarantees for Ukraine. "The teams continue their work, and soon a full vision will be clearly formulated," the report states.

The next steps and contacts were also among the main topics of discussion.

The Head of State thanked Macron for his support and efforts toward securing a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ukrainian and U.S. delegations met in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The parties published a joint statement following the meeting.

The document says Ukraine has expressed willingness to accept the U.S. proposal for immediate introduction of a temporary, 30-day ceasefire, which may be extended with the mutual consent of the warring parties, subject to the adoption and simultaneous execution of the ceasefire deal by the Russian Federation.

As a result of the negotiations with the U.S., Washington announced the restoration of defense assistance to Ukraine and intelligence sharing.
