Putin sends Trump “additional information”, “signals” via Witkoff

Peskov confirmed that Putin had accepted Witkoff late Thursday night, stopping short of commenting on the meeting’s agenda.

According to TASS, the special representative departed from Russia on Friday, at about 11:00 Moscow time.

On Tuesday, White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt officially announced that Witkoff was traveling to Moscow to discuss the ways of the war settlement in Ukraine.

Steve Witkoff has been a participant in the meeting of high-ranking delegations from the United States and Russia, which took place on February 18 in Riyadh for the first time in three years. A week prior to that, he arrived in Moscow to bring back home a U.S. citizen Mark Fogel, a former teacher whom Russia had convicted to 14 years in prison on drug smuggling charges. Witkoff said that during a February trip to Moscow, he "spent a lot of time" with Putin, getting to know him better.

As reported by Ukrinform, U.S. President Donald Trump said he would like to speak with Russian leader Putin to put an end to the Russian war against Ukraine as soon as possible.
