Zhovkva outlines three truce aspects discussed in Jeddah
Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva said this in an interview with Ukrinform, answering the question whether the ceasefire applies only to the frontline and whether it is expected to reduce shelling of Ukraine's rear.
“We are talking about the so-called complete truce. First and foremost, it means the cessation of aerial attacks with any type of weapon, whether ballistic and cruise missiles, guided bombs, or UAVs, including long-range drones. The first aspect is a complete ceasefire in the air,” he said.
According to Zhovkva, the second aspect of the truce proposed by the Russian Federation is “silence” at sea. He noted that it is necessary to ensure the continued operation of existing transportation routes, but stated that as of now, there are many threats in the Black Sea, in the areas where Ukrainian and foreign vessels pass.
The deputy head of the OP added that yesterday they also talked about a ceasefire on land, including the contact line.
As Ukrinform reported, on March 11, talks between representatives of Ukraine and the United States took place in Saudi Arabia. As a result, the Ukrainian delegation supported the US proposal to establish a complete ceasefire for 30 days along the entire front line. This regime can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, subject to acceptance and simultaneous implementation by the Russian Federation.
