Austrian foreign minister to visit Ukraine on Friday – media
That's according to APA, citing the minister's spokesperson, Ukrinform reports.
During her visit, Meinl-Reisinger is scheduled to meet with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and visit the Ohmatdyt children's hospital, which was hit by a Russian missile last year.
Additionally, she will attend a reception at the Austrian Embassy, where representatives from the business sector and humanitarian organizations will also be present.
On Wednesday, March 5, the Austrian foreign minister held a phone call with her Ukrainian counterpart, reaffirming Austria's "full commitment to Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity."
Meinl-Reisinger also expressed Austria's solidarity with Ukraine during her first international trip to Brussels last Thursday.
On March 3, Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen swore in members of the new federal government, led by Christian Stocker. The coalition government consists of the conservative Austrian People's Party (OVP), the Social Democratic Party (SPO), and the liberal NEOS.
The Foreign Ministry is now headed by NEOS leader Beate Meinl-Reisinger, who has been an outspoken supporter of Ukraine and a strong critic of Russian aggression.
