President Volodymyr Zelensky said that last night, during another attack against Ukraine's energy sector, Russian troops used about 70 missiles and almost two hundred attack drones.

He stressed that the first step towards real peace should be to stop such attacks.

The head of state wrote about this in Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“Last night, the Russian army launched another massive attack against our energy sector. Various facilities in several regions were attacked - in Odesa, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Ternopil regions. In total, the Russians used almost 70 missiles - cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as almost two hundred attack drones. All this is against the infrastructure that ensures normal life. Repair and restoration work is underway wherever necessary. Unfortunately, there are also damages to ordinary residential buildings. In Kharkiv, a Russian missile hit a house next to a building. People were injured. The necessary assistance is being provided,” Zelensky informed.

He noted that F-16s and Mirage-2000s provided by France were used to protect Ukrainian skies today.

“In particular, the 'Mirages' successfully worked against Russian cruise missiles. Thank you! I would also like to recognize our anti-aircraft missile troops, army aviation, all our electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups for the result,” the President said.

He also emphasized that the first steps to establish real peace should be to force the only source of this war, i.e. Russia, to stop such attacks against life.

“It is possible to control this. Silence in the skies - a ban on the use of missiles, long-range drones and bombs. And also silence at sea - a real guarantee of normal navigation. Ukraine is ready to go the way of peace, and it is Ukraine that wants peace from the very first second of this war. The task is to force Russia to stop the war,” the Head of State said.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of March 7, Russia launched a massive air strike against Ukraine. The Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 25 Russian Kh-101/Kh-55cm cruise missiles, eight Kalibr missiles, one Kh-59/69 guided missile, and 100 drones.
