French DM: We have intelligence resources, which we share with Ukrainians
French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu stated this on Thursday morning on France Inter, as reported by Ukrinform.
"The assistance of American agencies on satellite observation, everything that can be done, has been suspended since yesterday [Wednesday] afternoon," he confirmed.
Lecornu emphasized that French intelligence operates independently and shares its data with Ukraine. “Our intelligence is sovereign… with capabilities that are specific to us, so we have intelligence resources, which we share with the Ukrainians," he said.
Regarding the compensation for the suspension of U.S. military aid, the minister assured that Ukrainians know how to manage their reserves. In addition, France will accelerate its assistance.
"The President of the Republic asked me to accelerate the various French aid packages because, we Europeans, we cannot be in the declaratory, we must also be in the acts and allow to come segment by segment to compensate the American aid that would no longer arrive," he explained.
As Ukrinform previously reported, U.S. CIA Director John Ratcliffe stated on Wednesday that the United States had suspended intelligence sharing along with arms supplies to Ukraine. However, he also confirmed Washington’s intention to work with the Ukrainian side to lift the restrictions.
Also on Wednesday, White House National Security Adviser Mike Waltz said that the U.S. President would consider resuming aid to Ukraine if peace negotiations were arranged and confidence-building measures were taken.
