Zelensky on Trump's poll claims: This is Russian disinformation

Ukrinform
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed his approval ratings cited by U.S. President Donald Trump as "disinformation coming from Russia."

Zelensky said this at a meeting with journalists, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"If someone wants to replace me right now, that won't happen. Regarding this 4% [approval rating], we've seen this disinformation, we understand that it is coming from Russia. We understand this and we have evidence that these figures are being discussed between America and Russia. Unfortunately, President Trump, whom we have great respect for as a leader of the American people, whom we greatly respect and who constantly supports us, lives in this disinformation space," Zelensky said.

He also promised to soon release official polling data on public trust in various political leaders.

On February 18, U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his call for elections in Ukraine.

"We have a situation where we haven't had elections in Ukraine, where we have essentially martial law in Ukraine," Trump said when asked to comment on Russia's demand that it would sign a peace deal only after elections in Ukraine.

Trump also claimed that President Zelensky's approval rating had fallen to 4% and that Ukraine "has been blown to smithereens."

A survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) in early February 2025 found that 57% of Ukrainians trust President Zelensky.
