The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Japan, Dmytro Kuleba and Yoko Kamikawa, during their meeting in Kyiv, discussed the implementation of Ukraine’s Peace Formula, preparations for the Ukraine recovery conference in Tokyo, and cooperation within the IAEA on safeguarding the safety of nuclear facilities across Ukraine.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy announced this at a joint press conference with the head of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Today we discussed in detail Japan's further participation in the implementation of President Zelensky's Peace Formula. We agreed to actively work with the countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America to involve them in this initiative," Kuleba emphasized.

He noted that during the talks, the parties coordinated their steps to prepare for the Ukraine recovery conference, set to be held in Tokyo on February 19. In addition, the heads of foreign affairs discussed cooperation within the IAEA to guarantee the safety of nuclear facilities across Ukraine and the threat to international peace and security coming from the DPRK.

Kuleba noted that it is a great pleasure for him to host Yoko Kamikava in Kyiv, who became Ukraine’s first high-ranking international guest in 2024.

"I believe this sends a very powerful signal that this year will be even more productive in Ukrainian-Japanese relations than last year," Kuleba noted.
