Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk and President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel discussed a range of issues, including Ukraine’s defense needs, European integration and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian speaker said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.

“An important meeting and an important conversation with President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel. I thank for all the assistance the Czech Republic has provided and continues to provide: military, financial and humanitarian. And at today’s meeting, I heard confirmation that the Czech Republic will continue to stand with Ukraine," Stefanchuk noted.

According to him, they discussed the situation on the battlefield, Ukraine’s defense needs, and the current situation in Ukraine’s energy sector.

"The European integration is also in the focus of our attention. I thank the Czech Republic for its readiness to help Ukraine on its way to membership in the European Union. I told that the Ukrainian Parliament has adopted all the legislative acts necessary to implement the European Commission’s. recommendations. The Euro-Atlantic integration is another important topic. I emphasized that next year, at the Washington Summit, Ukraine seeks to receive an invitation to join the Alliance and a clear understanding of a timeline for membership,” the Ukrainian speaker said.

Stefanchuk also emphasized that the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula was also discussed.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ruslan Stefanchuk and the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation are in the Czech Republic on an official visit. On October 24, the second parliamentary summit of the International Crimea Platform was held in Prague. Almost 70 delegations from the parliaments of different countries took part in the event.
