President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone call on Saturday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

That’s according to Erdogan’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

The parties discussed the Russo-Ukrainian war, as well as a conflict between Israel and Palestine and the humanitarian crisis in the region.

"Stating that it is possible to resolve through peaceful means the regional conflicts, particularly the Israel-Palestine dispute, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye will continue to make every effort to that end," the statement said.

Zelensky also discussed with Erdogan the next round of negotiations, set to be held in Malta, on the Peace Formula put forward by Ukraine.

Türkiye will participate in the round, adding its authoritative voice and stance, Zelensky wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"I spoke with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to thank Türkiye for persistently supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity," the Head of State said.

“Food security. Despite Russia’s disruption of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Ukraine remains committed to its vital role as a global food security guarantor and enables the functioning of the Black Sea grain corridor,” Zelensky added.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Türkiye to Ukraine Yağmur Ahmet Güldere said that the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Türkiye, signed in early February last year, is under the stage of parliament ratification in both countries. Later, given the war-related emergency circumstances, mechanisms may be involved in making adjustments agreed by the parties.
