Prime Ministers of Ukraine, Qatar discuss Russia’s grain deal exit

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Qatari Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani have met in Kyiv and noted the need to continue implementing the Grain from Ukraine initiative.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a joint briefing with the Prime Minister of Qatar, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Shmyhal emphasized that Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide of the Ukrainian people require an immediate and decisive response from the international community.

According to Shmyhal, Russia’s grain deal exit endangered the lives of millions of people, not only in Ukraine but across the globe, and primarily in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

“Together with Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, we noted the importance of resuming the Black Sea Grain Initiative and the need to continue the implementation of the Grain from Ukraine initiative,” Shmyhal mentioned.

A reminder that, on July 17, 2023, Russia terminated its agreement with the United Nations and Türkiye regarding the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
