President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed further support for Ukraine and Russia's attempts to destroy the grain initiative with USAID Administrator Samantha Power.

“Ukraine values active cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development, USAID. Today I met with USAID Administrator Samantha Power,” the Head of State posted on Telegram.

As noted, the parties discussed further support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian economy, the consequences of Russia's attempt to destroy the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

“I am grateful for supporting our efforts and working together,” Zelensky noted.

As the President’s Office reports, the Head of State thanked Power for the visit and unprecedented support.

"We are sincerely grateful to the United States, President Biden, the Congress, you personally and all Americans for their unprecedented support of Ukraine. It is extremely important for us to have such a reliable ally. I appreciate that you visited Odesa yesterday. Even despite the fact that the city is experiencing intensified Russian missile terror these days. It is extremely important to personally see what is happening in Ukraine today," Zelensky said.

He praised active interaction with USAID and noted the important role of the Agency in consolidating assistance to Ukraine.

The parties also focused on discussing further joint steps to meet Ukraine's priority needs in the face of continued Russian aggression, particularly in the areas of social protection, healthcare and education.

The President emphasized the importance of financial and humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine through the Agency and expressed gratitude for USAID's contribution to food security and for recent initiatives and decisions to provide additional support for small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine.

As reported, USAID Administrator Samantha Power arrived in Kyiv on July 17. This is her second visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion.
