The visit of Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez to Ukraine on the first day of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union testifies to a new reality in which European affairs are no longer considered without Ukraine.

"Today, Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez paid a visit to Ukraine. It is very symbolic – on the first day of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This clearly testifies to a new reality. It was always impossible to imagine our common European home as complete without Ukraine. And now we have also reached the political level when European affairs are no longer considered without Ukraine," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in his evening address.

He noted that joint statements in support of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration were signed with the Prime Minister of Spain.

"And this is already the 21st such statement, that is, the majority supported our prospects, in particular, in the issue of membership in the Alliance... Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Iceland, Spain, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, and Sweden. Thank you all," the President said and emphasized that he is also grateful to those states with which Ukraine does not yet have such joint statements and declarations signed.

But these countries, according to Zelensky, absolutely clearly support Ukraine on its path toward NATO and therefore support the approach of real peace in all of Europe.

As reported, Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez arrived in Ukraine on the first day of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
