Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly at a meeting in Kyiv discussed military support for Ukraine and the country's integration into NATO.

According to Ukrinform, the head of government said this in a post on Telegram.

During the meeting, Shmyhal thanked the UK for its unwavering support, its leadership in creating a "coalition of fighter jets" and its willingness to train Ukrainian pilots.

According to him, the first groups of Ukrainian pilots have already left for training.

"On the battlefield, the Ukrainian Armed Forces is being reformatted to meet NATO standards. During the organization's summit, Ukraine should hear messages about our future in the alliance," Shmyhal said.

He called on Britain to strengthen sanctions against Russia, including those related to the export of dual-purpose goods, stressing that such measures would bleed Russia's military machine.

Among other things, Shmyhal noted Britain's participation in rapid reconstruction, particularly in the restoration of six bridges in the Kyiv region and the use of UKEF (UK Export Finance) tools.

He expressed hope for the rapid development of a compensation mechanism, stressing that Russia should pay for everything that was destroyed. He also thanked the UK for organizing a Ukraine recovery conference in London.
