Ukraine to be one of top issues at Biden’s meeting with Modi - State Department

U.S. President Joe Biden is set to discuss the war in Ukraine when he meets Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington next month.

This was confirmed on Wednesday by the spokesman for the U.S. Department of State, Matthew Miller, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.

"Certainly, the war in Ukraine will be one of the topics that is under discussion," official said, commenting on the scheduled visit of India’s Prime Minister to Washington and his meetings with the U.S. government officials.

He noted that the agenda will be announced in more detail closer to the date of the visit.

At the same time, Miller recalled that the Ukrainian issue was raised by the American side with Prime Minister Modi and other world leaders during previous meetings as well.

As reported, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to pay a state visit to the United States on June 22, 2023. In particular, he will meet with President Joe Biden. Modi met U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Papua New Guinea earlier this week.
