The United States, together with its allies and partners, continues discussions with the Ukrainian side on the issue of a security model to be chosen for the nation in the future.

That’s according to White House National Security Coordinator John Kirby, who commented on the latest reports claiming the drafting of the "Israel" security model for Ukraine, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.

"We are in discussions with Ukraine and with our allies and partners, including our NATO allies, about Ukraine's long-term security," noted White House official.

He said that at the moment he cannot officially confirm specific comments that have appeared recently. At the same time, Ukraine will have long-term security, and this is one of the reasons why President Joe Biden agreed to the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16s, as well as to the potential supply of these warplanes to Ukraine in the future, Kirby added.

"So we're in active discussions with them about what their long-term security needs are going to be," Kirby said.

As Ukrinform reported, the WSJ published an interview with Polish President Andrzej Duda, in which the latter said that NATO member states were considering the possibility of signing an Agreement on Security Guarantees for Ukraine based on the Israeli model. Moreover, according to Duda, this may happen as early as July 2023, based on the outcome of the NATO summit in Vilnius.
