EU member states and its institutions have provided $20 billion to support Ukraine's economic and financial stability since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the EU has become the main donor to the Ukrainian budget. EU member states and its institutions have provided $20 billion to support the economic and financial stability of Ukraine," Shmyhal said.

According to him, European military assistance helps Ukraine stop the Russian invader. Ten packages of EU sanctions against Russia have already significantly complicated the Kremlin regime's ability to finance this aggression. "And we are counting on the continuation of this sanctions policy. We are grateful to our European friends and allies for their humanitarian aid. For taking in millions of Ukrainian families. We are grateful for all the steps of solidarity and support. Because Ukraine's victory is Europe's victory," the Prime Minister said.

As reported, economic and financial assistance from the EU, as well as the settlement of complications in agricultural trade with Ukraine's neighbors among the EU countries, are topics for discussion during the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who is in Kyiv to celebrate Europe Day.
