The Ministry of Digital Transformation, the State Service for Special Communications, and the Ministry of Digitalization of Japan have signed their first trilateral memorandum, which marks the beginning of digital cooperation between the two countries.

This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science, and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"We are starting digital cooperation with Japan – we have signed a memorandum with the Japanese Ministry of Digitalization. We will focus on cyber defense to protect Ukrainian critical infrastructure facilities as much as possible. Japan has experience and expertise in countering cyberattacks. Fedorov said Ukraine would help Japan with its experience in building a unified and effective e-government system: the “mobile first” approach, experience in quickly launching online services, developing e-government, and implementing digital innovations at the government level.

As reported earlier, the Ministry of Digital Transformation signed a memorandum with Techosystem, an association of technology companies that will contribute to the development of Ukraine's startup ecosystem and innovation infrastructure.
