Zelensky appoints ambassador to China

President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Pavlo Riabikin as ambassador of Ukraine to the People's Republic of China.

The corresponding decree, No.239/2023, was published on the president’s website, Ukrinform reports.

"To appoint Pavlo Riabikin as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the People's Republic of China," the document says.

As reported, on April 26, President Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

From November 2021 to March 20, 2023, Pavlo Riabikin held the position of Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine. Prior to that, since November 2020, he headed the State Customs Service of Ukraine. He also served as Director General of Boryspil International Airport, a people's deputy, the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, the deputy minister of transport and communications, and Ukraine’s ambassador to Denmark.
